Lovely Typography 2010 cut-out calendar by Chris Page
So before Xmas I had this project in uni where we had to pick a graphic design issue be it sustainability, ethics, entrepreneurship, or technology and create any kind of publication to present the issue you have chosen. My idea was to create a calendar for Designers called ‘What BAD graphic design habit you going to give up this year’. So then I illustrated 12 different issues (for every month) together with a hand written type. Sorry about the photo quality;)
….At the moment I am working on the tee shirt project LOGO, Finally have picked the name for my tee brand and lucky me seems like all the host com. co.uk net and and etc still available for this name so keep checking to see the progress at some point;)
Hey, check this calendar that I saw this morning while having a cup of tea and looking through some inspirational blogs. It looks unique, interesting, really different, and playful. I’ve never seen a calendar like this before, it might be not the most usable calendar, but as interior detail in you living room would be really good. The calendar is by Berlin based design studio, check more of their stuff here http://www.wirsindsmyk.de/

Like the author described : This experimental calendar gives you the overview on every following month and not only the current one. It works with holes and concentric rings. The smaller the circles, the less of the year is left. The color scheme matches the seasons.
For my university Portfolio, I created a calendar, the aim of the calendar was to reflect the mood of each month, by selecting right background images and clothes for the model. All photographs used in the calendar was taken by me. The person in the photos is my friend she posed for me in my college photography studio, i tried to pick clothes that matches selected months, and the colours i used for each month were suppose to reflect summer, winter, autumn, and spring. My favourite one is June, maybe because i was born on the 30th of June, i used light colours and the figure in the calendar is floating and all happy looking, that’s how we should feel during summer of course! Each month represents something important happening on that day, December – Christmas and fireworks, Januray- Snow, February -valentines day ant ect. The only program i used for the calendar was Adobe Photoshop.
